Hypotheses

Hypotheses

All opportunities have some degree of uncertainty associated with them. When the uncertainty is significant, the prioritized changes, or initiatives, can be captured and communicated as hypotheses to help leaders move forward, yet still acknowledge the uncertainty present. This approach helps bring an experimental mindset to the subsequent actions, and reminds the organization that we seek to narrow the “cone of uncertainty” as quickly as possible.

Example Syntax:
“We currently believe that <this goal> will be achieved if we deliver <this change or initiative> because our customer will gain <value> and we will know this for sure when we see <this customer outcome> and <this metric> has changed.”
