Initiatives
Once an opportunity is sized and sponsored, the proposed change becomes an Initiative. This signals that the sponsor has established a constraint on their willingness-to-spend for the change opportunity, and that it is ready to be pulled into consideration for planning. The Initiative should align with the change themes that emerged (as levers) that consume the "change the business" budget.
The nature of initiatives will look different in different contexts. In a program management context, it could be a project. In a product context, it could be a feature. In a business context, it could be a strategic initiative. All represent sponsored changes, with spending constraints, pursuing opportunities.
Example Syntax:
“Use this <funding> to change <this thing> to improve <this aspect of the business, i.e. capability>.”
