Workflow

A context encapsulates some of the responsibilities of the organization. Collectively, these responsibilities "run the business". In many cases, the context will have the decision authority for some specific function within the enterprise. When this function for "running the business" can be described as a series of repeatable steps, then a workflow can be captured. The workflow should identify the unit of value delivery (the "piece" in "single-piece flow") and illustrate the current way of working that implements the business capability. The workflow description is useful for exploring how to "change the business" to evolve the capabilities to improve business performance to pursue higher-level parent goals.

Example Syntax:
"<Context A> fulfills its <responsibilities> to deliver <this business capability> by repeatedly executing <these steps> on each <unit of value delivery>."
